Dear Reader,

May I begin by wishing you all a very happy and healthy New Year. We are now entering the time in our church calendar called Epiphany. Epiphany rarely feels as celebratory as the rest of Christmas. It marks fairly closely the end of the old year, the end of school holidays and the end of decorations for another eleven months.

Maybe for some it is a relief, but it can also seem like an anti-climax and a bit of a let- down after all the excitement of the previous weeks. For the church it celebrates the visit of the magi to the infant Jesus.

Just like the magi we too have gifts we can give; we are all blessed with a gift or talent that we can use to bring about God’s kingdom here on earth. Epiphany is a great opportunity for us all to express ourselves in new and fresh ways in commitment to work closely together in mission and ministry; in bringing the Good news to all those living in our communities.

As always this year promises great opportunities for us to explore different ways of being church; different ways of worshipping through a variety of service styles. During this year why don’t you try out a new way of worshipping and you can be assured that you will receive a very warm welcome from all our church families.

God bless
